Kościół parafialny pw. Wniebowzięcia NMP

The masonry Assumption of Mary Parish Church in Parzęczew was erected between the years 1802 - 1804 on the initiative of Franciszek and Ignacy Stokowski who lived in nearby Piaskowice.

Description

In 1805 the church was consecrated and given to the Parish by the judicial vicar Priest Jarzębowski. It was expanded twice in the 19th century - the nave was expanded and a soaring tower was added. Inside the church there is an enormous wooden altar and a boat-shaped pulpit. The church walls are covered with a polychrome painted by Jan Matejko's apprentice - Aleksander Przewalski. The central place in the temple is held by Golgotha - a monumental painting by Wincenty Łukasiewicz from Petersburg. The church also has noteworthy religious paintings, stucco decoration, confessionals, a baptismal font and historic lighting elements - a true work of art. The church interior was thoroughly renovated as part of the preparations for the "Great Jubilee" of 2000.
