Description

The route 08 is a part of the 325 km internal loop of the Major Henryk “Hubal” Dobrzański’s Łódź Horse Trail, which encircles the whole Łódź Voivodeship, having the combined length of 1817 km.

The route runs through forests, as well as rural landscape. It crosses the proposed Nature and Landscape Complexes of “ Górna Mrożąca” (“The Upper Mrożąca River”), “Dolina Mrogi,” (“The Valley of the Mroga River”) and “Rochna,” along with a part of the Łódź Hills Landscape Park, an upland area unique in central Poland, stretching between Łódź, Brzeziny and Stryków. The terrain is diverse and geomorphic processes still take place there. Many springs and clean streams, as well as the natural vegetation and interesting fauna, are also a great attraction. The area is largely covered with woods (around 28 %) - there are several biologically valuable forest complexes with many interesting tree species, including beeches, ashes, field maples and wild sweet cherries.

In the park, there can also be found numerous rare and protected plants, which are on the so-called Red List of Threatened Species, such as globe-flowers, big-flowered foxgloves, mezerons and ground pines.

The route crosses the region of Brzeziny, where the ancestral traditions are still alive, examples of which are folk handicraft and national costumes.

More information concerning attractions and infrastructure on the route can be found on specific sites of the portal.
