Łódź Horse Riding Club
The Łódź Horse Riding Club is one of the most active riding centres in Łódź. The riders of the club take part in competitions in Poland, as well as abroad.
Description
The Łódź Horse Riding Club offers riding lessons for beginners and recreational riding in the arena and in the field, in the Łagiewniki Forest, including the specially prepared obstacle course called Marianka. The club also organizes occasional events and summer and winter camps.
The club is an Association of Physical Culture established in 1958. Originally, it was a club of the lovers of horseback recreation, mostly former uhlans. Then, when the number of members and horses increased, the club engaged in sport activities.
Curious details
The club owns facilities in the Łódź Hills Landscape Park, a part of which is the Łagiewniki Forest, one of the more beautiful city parks in Europe. The location of the club near the city centre and good communication cause that the club is popular among lovers of recreation riding and allow young people interested in the sport to take riding lessons. Some of the facilities of the club are historic buildings.
The riders of the Łódź Horse Riding Club won such titles as The Senior Champion of In-Door Horse Riding, the Junior Champion and Vice-Champions of Poland and the Youth Champion and Vice-Champions of Poland, as well as medals of the Polish Youth Olympics, many Cups of Polish Horse Riding Competitions and cups and other prizes while taking part in competitions abroad.
Object location
The Łódź Horse Riding Club is located in the north-west part of the Łagiewniki Forest – the largest forest complex inside the city limits in Europe. The forest is a part of the Łódź Hills Landscape Park.
