Main Square in Żory
The main square of Żory, which preserves the same architectural urban layout from the time of lease rights of the town, is the focal point of the city and one of its major attractions. Adjacent to it are the renovated remains of the defensive walls. The gem of the main square is the fountain.

Układ urbanistyczny Żor, a więc również rynek, powstały pod koniec XIII w. wraz z lokacją miasta. Niestety jego zabudowa była wielokrotnie niszczona przez pożary. Obecne zabudowania pochodzą więc w przeważającej większości z XIX w.
