Castle in Będzin

The Royal Castle in Będzien is a medieval defence stronghold erected by Kazimierz Wielki within the system of the so-called Eagles’ Nests on the border between Lesser Poland and Silesia. The estate was destroyed several times and it was rebuilt last in the 50s of the 20th century.

Historia Zamku sięga XIV w. Jest on odnotowany w dokumentach już w 1349 r., wspomina o nim także Jan z Czarnkowa i Jan Długosz w spisie warownych budowli wybudowanych przez Kazimierza Wielkiego.
