Description
This room was created thanks to the collaboration between the castle and the State Forests and Park Krajobrazowy Cysterskie Kompozycje Krajobrazowe Rud Wielkich (Landscape Park of Cistercian Landscape Compositions of Rudy Wielkie) located north from Racibórz. Here you can see a lot of stuffed animals representing the rich fauna of the local forests. In a room arranged as a part of forest you will see a beaver (photo 10.09.001), a pair of mallard ducks (photo 10.09.002), a pair of pheasants (photo 10.09.003), badger and marten standing next to it (photo 10.09.004), raccoon (photo 10 09005), hare (photo 10 09006), roe-deer and a fox standing next to it (photo 10 09 007), and birds (photo 10 09 008). In the next room you can see a bust of boar, deer (photo 10 09 009) and fallow-deer (photo 10 09 010). There are also specially cut pieces of trunk from different species of tree (photo 10 09 011), thanks to which you can get to know their growth rate and internal structure. An interesting exhibit is a big slice of the trunk, on which are marked the more important events in the life of the tree. In the displays there is a rich collection of insects (photo 10 09.012-10. 09 014), especially butterflies and moths. Next, on the wall hangs an old map (photo 10 09 015), showing the region of Rudy Wielkie. It is noteworthy o collection of oil lamps (photo 10 09.016-10. 09017), and, located in shelve, skeletons of animals (photo 10 09.018-10. 09023).
